Who is responsible for your information

City Waypoint is the brand responsible for deciding how personal information received through this website is used. In this policy, “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to City Waypoint. Scope and applicable privacy laws

This policy covers our website and communications sent to its contact address. We handle personal information in accordance with applicable privacy requirements, including Hong Kong’s Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486) where it applies. Other protections, including those under the GDPR or Brazil’s LGPD, apply where their respective legal scope is met; this policy does not limit mandatory rights.

Information you choose to send

If you contact us by email, we receive your email address, the name displayed with your message, its content and attachments, and associated correspondence. We use that information to answer inquiries, investigate corrections or permissions requests, handle privacy matters, and maintain an appropriate record of the conversation. Providing information is voluntary, but without sufficient details we may be unable to respond to your request.

Please send only information relevant to your inquiry. Do not send payment-card details, account passwords, or unnecessary sensitive information. We do not offer website accounts, bookings, purchases, newsletter subscriptions, or a form that stores submissions.

Technical information and website delivery

When the website is accessed online, its hosting and network services may process request information such as IP address, request time, requested page, browser information, and error or security records. Such processing supports delivery, troubleshooting, and protection against abuse. The type and availability of records depend on the services used to deliver the website.

Our own website code does not create user profiles or store search terms on a server. Site search runs locally in your browser over the website’s page index. Searching does not send your query to a separate search provider.

Cookies, analytics, and advertising

The website’s own code does not set cookies or use browser local storage. No analytics, advertising, remarketing, or email-marketing script is currently enabled. Our photographs and styles are served as local website assets, rather than loaded from a stock-photo service or remote font service.

If we introduce optional tracking or advertising technologies, we will explain the change and provide information or choices required by applicable law before using them. This policy does not imply that such technologies are active now.

Advertising choices on third-party services

For your convenience, you can use ad-personalization settings and read how information is handled by sites and apps using Google services. These are external resources, not settings operated by City Waypoint. Providing the links does not mean this website uses those advertising services, and changing an external setting does not delete information you have emailed to us.

Purposes and legal grounds

We use information for the inquiry you make, necessary site delivery and security, and applicable legal obligations. Where a law requires a legal basis, the relevant basis may be legitimate interests in responding to communications and protecting the website, compliance with a legal obligation, or consent for a specifically optional use. We do not repurpose correspondence for direct marketing without the permissions required by law.

Sharing and international handling

Information may be handled by email, hosting, or security service providers as necessary to support the purposes described above, or disclosed where required by law or reasonably necessary to protect lawful rights. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context advertising.

Technical and email processing can involve locations outside your place of residence. Where an applicable law requires safeguards for a transfer, those requirements govern the transfer. External websites you choose to visit operate under their own privacy policies.

Retention and security

We retain inquiry records only for as long as reasonably needed to resolve the matter, maintain necessary correspondence, protect lawful rights, or meet applicable recordkeeping duties. Information no longer needed is deleted or anonymized as appropriate. Necessary security or legal records may be kept for a different period.

We take reasonable steps to restrict access and protect information, but no internet transmission or storage method is guaranteed to be completely secure. Email should not be used to send information that is unnecessary for the request.

Your choices and rights

You may contact hello@citywaypoint.com to request access to or correction of personal information we hold about you. Where applicable law provides additional rights, you may also request deletion, restrict or object to processing, request portability, or withdraw consent for a consent-based use. These rights depend on the law and circumstances; withdrawing consent does not invalidate processing already lawfully carried out.

We may ask for information reasonably necessary to verify a request and will handle it within the requirements of applicable law. You may raise a concern with the relevant privacy authority, including Hong Kong’s Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data where appropriate.

Children and policy changes

The website is a general travel information resource and does not offer child accounts or knowingly solicit personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information that should not be retained, contact us.
